I don't think the Jelly Bean will handle 2013.

How did you license the software? Through 365? VLK? OEM? Retail? That will determine your best course of action.

  • OEM shouldn't matter. OEM and Retail merely matter for how the license works, and what media you apply to install it with. It should however finish upward in the aforementioned area for the programs that can find it, to find it in.

FWIW 2013 should be set up similar 2010 where the OEM key is not the same equally the License key and tin can't be used for reinstallation. Even if JellyBean (or other keyfinders) do detect the primal it's going to be the OEM key, not the actual product cardinal for reinstalls.

The production fundamental should be located on the package for the reinstallation DVD or on a product menu (depending on your manufacturer) that was included with your PC.

If you did not recieve either, check your PC's markings and double-bank check that the serial number is not included most the Windows product key sticker (I haven't seen this done in ages, simply for a while information technology was mutual to have the office key on a smaller sticker adjacent to the windows one).

Declining all that contact the manufacturer (the unit should however be under warranty) and advise them of the state of affairs.

I don't know if Role 2013 OEM is like Windows 8 OEM where there "kinda" isn't a product key, so it's possible that all you need to practise is reinstall the software.

    Finally:

As a reminder OEM software is only licensed for the hardware it was purchased with and cannot exist transferred across different hardware.

  • I accept installed Office 2013 on four dissever domain connected machines inbound unlike retail keys. Unfortunately I used the same Hotmail account for all iv installs (since MS wants y'all to log in during each install). What I believe this has done is attached the initial key I used to all iv installs. I determined this using Ted's script.

I am at present beingness told the key has reached information technology's limit.

Any ideas on how to become around this?

  • According to Belarc, the product keys for Function 2013 is not stored locally on the calculator, only the final 5 digits seem to be what is available for identification.

Users that register several keys under aforementioned business relationship, should consider logging the keys in a local archive. When ever the PKC has been used, it tin can non be used to think any information in the future. Microsoft will non assistance (they say, they have no manner of doing and then) if you loose the product key or login to the account in question. This Means, that should you or your customer forget the account they used for registering the PKC initially, in that location is no way you tin can regain admission to the paid for Part product... Been there, tried it...

Determination: Register the product, choose "install from Disc", choose to burn your ain disc, and from there you tin can see your bodily product primal. Put that key in your local administered archive/documentation. Then install the Function bundle at the estimator, knowing yous are home prophylactic if yous or your customer forgets either login or changes mail address or whatsoever...

MS wants to sell 365 solutions, not OEM ;-)

  • Yes, Bo

Although with my installs, we buy the retail version and use the key from the box. When I had a couple of problems activating role, I tried a reinstall from the business relationship ( aforementioned account for many installs ), and found out that the key on the box is Non the key registered on the account !! I tried using the using the script to get the final five digits, I could not find the installer for the install I did and ended up activating over phone.

I haven't yet had to practise a full reinstall, so say if a motorcar is replaced and I cant run the script, or perchance, if as William5230 did, I may take used the same cardinal on several machines, my question would exist, how can I reinstall from a boxed retail product key when there is no corrollation betwixt the box primal and the install key ?

I am currently creating a new account for each install and logging that into the future against our customer account.

  • Belarc is a skillful tool indeed merely I'1000 agape information technology does not encompass Role 2013 also.

And then therefore, there is no manner to retrieve the license key used on that office 2013 installation??

When you lost the key, does it hateful I accept to buy a new Role?

    Please verify.

    Thanks!

  • This consequence is about to brand me pull my hair out.  Normally License Crawler works wonders on about every machine I attempt it on.  I have one particular machine where I purchased Office 2013 Pro with the machine, and of course it came pre-installed but without the primal, which was required to be entered from the fiddling piece of paper that came with the computer.  Of form now I've lost that paper, and need to re-install Office due to the figurer's drive crashing.  Windows was easy, as this is a Dell computer, but Office still requires the key to exist entered.  I take the quondam difficult drive, and can still operate Office on it (except Outlook which suffers from the original drive result).  The script does pull the last 5 digits, which does non match whatsoever of the current keys I have saved.

Just kills me that Microsoft is so paranoid that they now have cost me some other $500 simply to fix a unproblematic problem!!!  Microsoft used to be a cool company, in the by year they've completely inverse.  And non for the good of information technology'southward most of import fans, the techies like us!

  • OK This problem is solved, here is what you do:

I go to www.office.com/setup and put in thetemporaryproduction ID.  After you log into your account I exercise what others have said and that is select Burn to a Disc, (Kickoff TIME Just to get a hard copy of Role 2013.  Of course when you exercise this your REAL Production ID will be  miraculously reviewed to you. You are good install.  But, this is the proficient part.  On yous next Office 2013 install, once again go to the office.com/setup, put in your temp Product ID, log in, but this time choose ' I have a disk'.  And  that is it. You're real product ID volition than be revealed. Enter the setup for office that is on your burnt disk, and install your next coy of office 2013.   Of course,  Microsoft but wants to make certain, you will have to reactivate your license. Put in the Real Product ID and that is information technology. This is done.  One thing I also learned is that since I install a lot of Office 2013,on a lot of computers, using the same business relationship, at xxx copies y'all are told to create a new account, which I did. Also you can check your account to see all the copies you take installed.  They number them, so I am now writing downward on my office box that installed number, but in case I need to re-install in the future.

  • Hi Everyone, Office 2013 gets installed using a new engine, like to that of a virtualized application. Unless y'all're using the OLP - paper license version, the manner traditional keyfinder works will non exist able to extract the right information.

Question is, does anyone use http://www.sterjosoft.com/list/ and exam with these 'click-to-run' editions of Ms Office 2013?

I have confirmed on numerous systems that BelArc'south Belasset latest version as of 2014July does not piece of work in getting License keys anymore.

License Crawlers piece of work only up till Function 2010 and Windows vii. It will not get Windows 8 serial numbers as well.

what has happened is. when you annals a Microsoft product to your hotmail account information technology and so gives it an installation code as well every bit the i on the card in the box (This installation code is different from the ane in the box) the last 5 digits of the installation code is what Microsoft script tell you. the dissimilar licenses are listed in your account in no detail order so y'all need to cheque which re-create you are installing from the installation key (to find the installation key follow the options to install from disk and information technology volition tell you the code). what has happened in your instance is that after registering your latest production you have clicked on one to install from the list of 4 identically named products and you accept selected one that has already been installed. to get around the trouble brand a list of the installation codes (not the ones in the boxes) and and then run the above script on each machine to tell you which installation code is tied to which machine. you should and then accept one left over.

    Promise this helps
